Dr.Lankapalli Bullayya College

Profile

Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College was established in 1973, initially offering a three-year Bachelor of Commerce degree program. The college was sanctioned government aid in 1976. By 1988, it had expanded to include courses in the Arts, Science, and Commerce departments. Currently, the college offers Honours undergraduate courses in four different disciplines. All courses are of four-year duration and follow a semester pattern in accordance with the guidelines of Andhra University. The conduct of semester-end theory and practical examinations, as well as the issuance of degrees, is the prerogative of Andhra University.

The undergraduate program is divided into two divisions for academic functions:

1. Commerce & Management: B. Com. and BBM

2. Arts & Sciences: B. Sc. and B. A.

 

Admission criteria

Admissions are made based on merit in Intermediate or its equivalent examination. Seats for SC, ST, BC and Sports quota are reserved as per the prevailing norms.

 

UG Courses

The Bachelor of Science programme offers five combinations of group subjects in physical sciences and five combinations of group subjects in Life sciences.
The Bachelor of Arts programme offers five combinations of group subjects in Arts.

There are 56 well-ventilated and spacious classrooms with an inbuilt carpet area each of 600 sqft and 16 highly equipped laboratories for practical studies of the science subjects. The following is the list of laboratories for respective courses on the campus.

Placement services

A dedicated Placement Cell assists students with career guidance and placements, providing essential skill development training for on-campus recruitments. The college environment fosters students' overall development and growth by encouraging participation in both academics and co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The college boasts of well-planned infrastructure, well-stocked libraries, seminar halls, and extensive grounds and playfields. Sports students receive appropriate coaching and are encouraged to participate in state and national-level competitions. Since the college's inception, students have won numerous accolades, including medals, shields, and trophies. NCC cadets also distinguish themselves in various events and competitions, while NSS volunteers are actively engaged in community and social work. Additionally, the college hosts several clubs where like-minded students can expand their horizons and skill sets.
