PROFILE

The Post Graduate courses at Dr LB College were launched in the year 1993 with the Master of Arts and Master of Science programmes in Mathematics. The year 1994 witnessed the launch of MBA and MCA programmes with an intake of 30 students per course. Today there are 9 departments offering 11 courses affiliated to Andhra University. All the courses are career oriented and inspire students to seek higher education in Master’s programme.

Any graduate in Chemistry who has qualified in APPGCET (common entrance test conducted by Government of Andhra Pradesh ) is eligible to pursue this course.The PG course in Master of Science in Biochemistry is divided into 4 semesters. In all the semesters there are 4 theory papers and 2 practical papers . In addition in the 4 th semester the student has to do a project and give a presentation . A comprehensive Viva-Voce is also included at the end of 4 th semester

FACILITIES

In the PG segment, there are 31 well ventilated and spacious classrooms with an inbuilt carpet area of 600 sft each, 13 laboratories for studies in science, 2 computer labs that have sufficiently high configured systems and internet facilities for the students and teachers. The following is the list of laboratories for respective courses in the campus.

PLACEMENT SERVICES

A dedicated Placement Cell helps the students in Career Guidance and Placements and provides them necessary skill development training for placements through on-campus recruitments.
The college environment facilitates for the students’ overall development and growth by encouraging them not only in academics but also in participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The college has a very well-planned infrastructure, fairly stocked-up libraries, seminar halls, and a large ground and playfields. Sports students are provided appropriate coaching and are encouraged to participate in state and national level competitions. Since the inception of the college students have won many accolades by way of medals, shields and trophies. NCC cadets also make their mark in various events and competitions. NSS volunteers are actively engaged in community and social work. There are several other internal groups and clubs that like-minded students become part of and widen their horizons and skill-sets.
